Looms & Spinning

Our mountains were rugged and remote until the mid 1900's.  Many families learned to either make things themselves or do without.  Clothing and bedding were absolute necessities and our mountain families learned at early ages to sew and weave in order to make these staples.

This exhibit highlights the various types of looms and spinning wheels that you were likely to see in homes throughout our mountaions.
