Virtual Tours

Can’t visit the museum? Take a look at these video tours, hosted by our board members and volunteers!

Welcome

Carolyn Justus welcomes you to the Heritage Museum!

Railroad Room

Larry Morton takes you along the historic Saluda Grade. His scale model of Western NC in the 1920’s is delightful and informative. A must-see for train enthusiasts!

War Rooms

Judge Dave Fox takes you on a tour of the war rooms, both of which house objects from his personal collection. From time to time these rooms get rearranged, so be sure to come by in person to check them out!

Cemetery Wall

Patsy Farmer Jones explains the cemetery wall. She also shares her own anecdotes about historic WNC cemeteries along the way!

Revolutionary War Hall

Patsy Farmer Jones discusses the Revolutionary War exhibit. Dedicated to those who fought from Henderson County, and major battles fought here. While you’re here, see if you can find the names of your ancestors on the wall.

Quilt Wall

Rebecca McCall tells us the history of quilts. Watch as she weaves the tales of early settlers, local quilters, and her own family history together!

Edneyville

Edneyville native Barbara Lackey talks us through her hometown. Learn about historic inns, churches, and why “in Edneyville, apple is king!”

The Hidden Room

Local history buff Jim Toms shows us the hidden room. Come see the old jail window, judge’s desk, and old architecture left behind!

Mountain Lily Steamboat

Drew Brannon discusses the failed steamboat known as the Mountain Lily. He also talks about the history of the river, and personal ties to this historic business venture!

Gift Shop

Nancy Edwards shows off local goods and a historic rifle in our gift shop! Learn how you can support not only the museum but local artists, growers, and authors!
